Contacts

The people you sell to: their trips, their preferences, and how to bring an existing client list in from a spreadsheet.

A contact record keeps their details and the golf preferences you reach for when building a proposal: name, email, phone, handicap, home club, preferred tee times and dietary notes. The Trips tab lists every deal they have had with you, and Create proposal starts the next one from there.

Importing your client list

The Import button on Contacts takes the spreadsheet your agency already has. The file is read in your browser and never uploaded anywhere; only the rows you confirm reach your account.

  1. Drop in an Excel or CSV file, up to 5,000 rows.
  2. Check the column mapping. RoundPlan guesses from your headers and shows sample values; anything it should not import, set to Don't import.
  3. Read the preview: how many are new, how many duplicates, how many rows have no email or an error.
  4. Choose what duplicates do. Skip them, or fill in empty fields, which adds missing data to the existing contact and never overwrites a field that already has a value.
  5. Import. It runs in batches with a progress bar, and a failed run resumes without re-sending what already landed.

Everything imports as a client on purpose. If some rows are really suppliers or partners, change their type on the contact afterwards; a mislabelled import is harder to undo than a type change.

Errors come back as row numbers from your file, so you can fix the source and import just those again.
